Program Description
The Cybersecurity Program develops essential office productivity, communication, and problem-solving skills before advancing into a full cybersecurity track covering offensive testing, ethical hacking, security operations, digital forensics, and network defense. Learners progress from practical software proficiency and workplace readiness to hands-on labs that mirror real-world security scenarios, culminating in job-ready capabilities aligned with industry certifications.
Program Learning Outcomes
Students learn to navigate operating systems and gain proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; build typing speed and accuracy while mastering foundational word processing; develop professional writing and customer-facing communication; strengthen analytical problem solving, decision-making, résumé writing, interviewing, and workplace ethics; advance spreadsheet skills with formulas, formatting, and charts; and refine verbal, nonverbal, and written communication for teamwork, presentations, and conflict resolution.
All labs run in isolated, legal environments under strict rules of engagement and align where applicable with certifications such as Security+, CEH, PNPT/OSCP fundamentals, and CHFI. Upon completion of the required coursework, students will complete an unpaid externship that consists of 135 hours clock hours in the computer technology field.
The foundational phase supports administrative, customer service, and office coordinator roles, while the advanced phase enables entry into cybersecurity pathways.
Program support includes résumé and portfolio development, mock interviews, and guidance toward certifications that enhance employability.
